Construction projects consist of various organs which are responsible for each phase of the project lifecycle. Project manager is one of the effective person in project who undertakes important responsibilities. The quality of responsibilities undertaken by project manager has a significant effect on the success of the project. Lack of extend and enough identification with critical success factors leads to difficulty in monitoring and controlling the projects performance. Since the completion and results of the project depends to duties and responsibilities of project managers, identification the responsibilities of project managers and also factors affecting the project success, is essential. In this investigation, responsibilities of consultant project manager in various phases of project life cycle were identified and their effects on project success were evaluated. Eventually, more effective duties were prioritized in this respect.
