Abstract

Rolled concrete, is a concrete without slump that used in many of pavement project in past two decades and this continue too. High the compression and abrasion strength and being below the permeability are the portions benefit of Rolled Compacted Concrete Pavement (RCCP). Nowadays, nano silica is a material that used for increased improvement of normal concrete parameters and yet is an important role in raising the mechanical properties of concrete. In this study, the effect of nano-silica on mechanical properties the RCCP is investigated. For this purpose, nano silica is added to RCCP with replaced of 1.5, 2 and 2.5 percentage of the volume fraction of cement. The experiments are contained of compression, splitting tension and water absorption that are carry out in 7 and 28 days of the life of sample concrete. In this study, results showed that with added nano-silica to RCCP, compression and tension strength are reduced and water absorption is increased. So the use of nano-silica not at all recommended in RCCP.
