One of the solutions to fixing clay is the use of lime. In order to study the effect of lime percentage, moisture content and processing time on the resistance and swelling properties of clay samples with 2, 5, 8 and 10% lime and with moisture content of 10, 15 and 20%, were applied at 3, 30 and 60 days under stresses Normal 1, 2 and 4 kg / cm 2 were discarded using a direct shear test. The results of direct shear experiments indicate that the preparation of samples, especially in direct shear samples, is effective on the results. Shear strength can be increased even if the soil moisture content is high, provided sufficient time and lime is provided. The study on shear strength and shear strength parameters showed that in 5% of lime and with 15% moisture and 30-day treatment time, the highest shear strength and minimum swelling was obtained. Therefore, it is better to use a moisture content higher than optimum moisture to add lime to the soil structure, providing sufficient moisture for the reaction to the lime, and also the negative effect of the lack of moisture on the increase soil swelling, and the sample in short the best time is upgraded.
