Investigating the effect of cement paste and aggregate on concrete permeability is of great importance. So, in this paper, the results of the permeability of 28-day concrete specimens containing granite, andesite, siliceous, limestone, marble and tuff aggregates and cement pastes without / with silica fume, fly ash, zeolite and limestone powder admixtures are presented. In this investigations, concrete permeability is measured using “Cylindrical chamber” method and surface strength of rocks and cement pastes is measured using “Twist-off” method. The obtained results show a linear correlation between the compressive and surface strength of rocks and cement pastes with coefficient of determinations higher than 0.9. Regarding the permeability, it was observed that the concrete containing granite aggregates and silica fume has the highest permeability and the concrete containing tuff aggregates and type 2 Portland cement has the lowest permeability. A regression analysis for estimating the penetrated water volume into the concrete specimens, regarding compressive and surface strength of the rocks and cement pastes, water absorption and saturated surface dry density of the rocks is also presented. Penetrated water volume into the concrete specimens can be estimated using the regression model.
