The construction of road embankment on loose clay soils, where groundwater levels are high, causes engineers to modify and improve soil conditions. One of the upgrading methods is the implementation of a combination of stone or limestone columns of different lengths. In fact, by fulfilment these columns, a skeletal fluid is formed in the soil, which reduces the amount of soil and increases soil bearing. In this research, the finite element method has been analyzed, and then the results are analyzed in a parametric manner. The parameters studied include the effect of length, diameter, and distance between columns, the effect of which has been studied. The results show that the composite columns made with CFG columns (including a combination of cement, wind ash and crushed stone), as well as limestone columns, are from SC columns (soil-cement) with limestone columns are more effective. The high compressive capacity of CFG-lime columns than SC-lime columns results in the long-term stability of the embankment road constructed on soft soil. The results show that the formation is significantly affected by the diameter and length of the CFG-lime columns and there is an optimal diameter, length, and distance to reduce the settlement.
