The lateral load resistant system is one of the most important elements in a building. Because it is determinative of the kind of behavior of structures for standing against the lateral load and dissipating the eternal energy to it. The concentrically braced frame structure is one of the most usable of lateral load resistant systems. These systems because of their significant lateral stiffness and strength are attractive for designer. However, the major weakness of concentric braces is buckling. This matter causes concentrically braced frame structures have low ductility ratio and energy dissipation in front of lateral load. To solve this problem a new kind of concentric braces are introduced in this study. In this system, a local fuse has been used in the middle of brace. The design procedure of the fuse is caused to global buckling of the brace changes to the local buckling of the fuse. Then with using of the auxiliary elements that have been placed 1cm from internal and external crust of the fuse, buckling of the fuse is controlled. In this way, the post buckling behavior of the brace is improved and a wide and stable hysteresis curve is gained for brace. This fat curve shows the high dissipation energy and ductility of the brace. In addition, the results of the numerical and experimental studies demonstrate desirable performance of the new concentric braces.
